First let me confess, though I secretly prayed for his success, I doubted the possibility that Senator Obama would become the President of the most powerful nation in the world. I looked at America’s history of non-tolerance, it’s propensity for manipulating outcomes and it’s covert methods of fostering racial division. I listened to the media, both sides. I cringed on hearing the venom in Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Curtis Sliwa and “Pastor Manning”. I dissected the now inflamed comments of Reverend Wright. I reminisced of the darkness that enveloped the Caribbean sky on that sad day when John F. Kennedy was murdered. I saw visions of Martin Luther King, Harriet Tubman, Medgar Evers. One ardent supporter told me ,Obama is God sent. Maybe he is. Then it happened, the greatest upset in the history of the world. Obama is President.
Through the streets of Brooklyn I marvel at the brisk Obama trade, T-shirts, buttons, calendars, even a CD. Now I ask myself, are we as black people aware of what we owe this man who put his life and the safety of his family on the line. Do we owe him? Yes we do! We owe him our unmovable support. He has given our children the proof that they can. We need to highlight him to our young men and women. Our behavior and attitude towards each other need to be “Obamanized”. Yes my people, we need to uplift and help each other. This is what we have been crying for. What are we going to do with it?

Most people are anxiously awaiting the results of the upcoming election. I don't believe there was ever a political campaign in the world that generated so much interest, sparked so much debate and revealed qualities in individuals that was simmering for a long time. The most intriguing part of this election is the race factor. To me it has outed the instigators like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingram and Kertis Sliwa, of all people. It has ostracized neighbors, family and friends alike. Personally, I think that America will be a better place regardless of the outcome. It is great to see chips of the stereotypical rock falling to the ground. How encouraging to see the young people becoming involved in the study of politics. There are tons of lessons to be learnt. Today I post this question to you.
If Senator Obama wins, what are the top five things he should address? |

The bailout! 700 billion dollars worth. The government has cleared the way to ship out $125 billion this week to the country's largest banks, beginning the biggest government bailout in history.
"The money will go out the door for those institutions early this week," predicts Assistant Treasury Secretary David Nason, one of the chief architects of the rescue plan. Not only is the money ready to be sent to nine major financial institutions, including Bank of America, Citigroup Inc. and JPMorgan Chase, but the government is reaching preliminary agreements with a group of more than a dozen major regional banks, who will share a part of an additional $125 billion the government hopes to pump into banking system. This was recently reported on the Associated Press. What a damn shame! I eagerly await prosecution, after all, I know quite a few people who are doing time for petty crime. And who the hell says crime doesn't pay? Crime does pay but it depends on your political connections. Am I miseducating my children by telling them to speak the truth? Look, the President lies. "All the time". Continuing with the AP report, "Another $100 billion is earmarked to be spent buying troubled assets from banks such as bad mortgage loans as another way to spur banks to resume lending. However, a long line of other industries are hoping the government will decide to help them as well. Insurance companies, automakers, hedge funds and foreign-owned banks are all making appeals to be included in the rescue package, contending that they need assistance as well". Notice there is no mention of a bailout for the thousands of families, black, white, yellow, brown, who are losing their homes because of these heartless, suit wearing thugs. One dude received 86 million dollars for a month's work. Whose money is it? That's right, the hardworking disenfranchised citizens of America. |

Pow! Pow! Pow! The sound of the killing fields of Trinidad and Tobago. No one looks out. Scared, petrified, defeated, desensitized. What a pity? I read with dismay and disbelief the reports on the daily newspaper. Last count, 440 plus. A country so blessed with natural resources, beautiful, kind and family oriented people now suffers at the hands of a few. Who is to blame? Is it the overlooked youth? Is it the government? Is it the Americanization and deculturalization of the island? Is it the neglected "all black" neighborhoods? I pray that their is someone more knowledgeable than myself who will help me understand this injustice to the masses. I look, though from far away at the seemingly passive acceptance of the destruction of TnT. I laugh at the reports that "yuh wouldn't recognize town boy, is onee skyscraper". Yet I hear of water shortages, police apathy to respond to crime, "current gone!", heroine seeping into my home, no hospital beds, murders in Point Fortin, Erin, Siparia, Sandre Grandre, kidnappings, lord help my people. I heard one call for American intervention, but what's happening now is American intervention. It is the greatest American export. Chaos, crime, drugs, Godlessness, gangsterism, sexual deviation. We don't need any more. Trinidad needs to filter the politicians. It's always a different puppy but from the same mother. The welfare of a country is never determined by how well the elites are doing but by looking at the living conditions of the poor class. The man in the country doesn't give a rat's anus about the skyscraper in Port-of-Spain. He wants and needs water, medicine, electricity and a job to feed his family. Our children do not need HBO, they need a stable family. Isn't it ironic that we allow the worst of the worst to come perform for our children, fake pastors to pitch tents and peddle holy water and miracle cloths while our young men are dying on the streets. A! A!

For those of us who live on, yet another day, another struggle, we are blessed. Living on realising how vulnerable and fragile our existence. I've lived far away in another man's country. I've listened with an absence from what I truly love, wishing, fantasizing, remembering our youthful days together. The lodge, the community center, the soccer field, Irie College and of course, the Back. How great were our times. We enjoyed it, I know you did. I still remember that "crisp" black car you owned, Betsy, we called it. Trips to Point, party! I remember your smile my brother. I would not be there for your burial, I prefer it like that. You would never be dead. Just like the others who never died. Tavvy, Rancher, Marchie, Clarie, ButterPaw, Tuna, Mace, Morgue, Copper, BlackJack, Otis, Kyle, Hippie, waiting in that place where we will "lime". I say a temporary farewell my friend. Charles Spartacus Dalmus Romulus Neptune, my brethren. To your children I say live and smile with your father 'cause he is smiling. I love you my brother.

Oh well, Americans are outraged at Mrs. Billary Clinton's reasoning for not dropping out of the democratic race. I'm not! Her remark just adds substance to all my previous posts about the Clintonistas. "My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out. If you are one of the apologists who would reason away such a public display of lunacy, I sympathize with you. This is absolutely revealing of the personality Americans are dealing with. Ask Kathleen Wiley, the former White House aide’s life had been turned upside down by threats aimed at silencing her about the sexual assault she experienced at the hands of Bill Clinton. The Clintons’ fears were heightened by what she knew of their shady political operations. Ask Juanita Broaddrick, whose charge that she was raped in 1978 by then-Arkansas attorney general Bill Clinton made news a few years ago.She sent an open letter to first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, reminding her of an encounter they had two weeks after she had been brutally assaulted by Bill Clinton, who was running for governor at the time. She said that Hillary, grasping her hand, thanked her "for everything you do for Bill." When she tried to pull away, Hillary tightened her grip and drew closer to her. "You repeated your statement," Broaddrick wrote, "but this time with a coldness and a look that I have seen many times on television in the last eight years. You then released your grip, and I said nothing and left." Oh Billary, I guess you think that America will welcome you irregardless of how ruthless your tactics. It is one thing I know and believe about the American population, they will turn on you like last Monday's milk. Thanks for solidifying my complete lack of trust in you.

My grandmother, bless her soul, had an old, probably African saying, "when yuh live in concrete house, board house does call yuh". How true! Even happened to me. Amazing how we as humans always seem to find a way to mess up a good thing. My sister Oprah, I must admit didn't surprise me. Somehow I detected a deep unhappiness, a silent displeasure, almost an intellectual animosity towards her past. Though whitewashed with dollars, it lingered just beneath her public display of unshakable self confidence. At times she appeared to relish in her authority to have people clinging to her every word. I have watched her evolve from the poor deeply spiritual black woman to a rich God doubting, blaspheming sybarite. To hear anyone openly challenge the written word of God is unforgivable. I love debates, I believe in freedom of expression, I admire the philomath, but I strongly detest anyone who would stand today and question or should I say enervate the words of the Bible. Oprah's recent actions are nefariuos, fatuous, self- aggrandizing and downright demonic.
This once highly touted, strong, overcoming woman today sits almost in a trance to be manipulated by a man who appears to be from out of space. His alien-like demeanor reminds me of the typical cult leader. I may be wrong but I will not be surprised if he is messing with "new age" medication. It is incomprehensible to me of ordinary understanding what occurred here. Did Oprah forget the God she called to in poverty? Does extreme wealth entitle you to be a debater of the word of God? I call on her to come back. I plead with her to heed this warning, ask God to create in her a right spirit. My other concern is the children of that school she founded in Africa. Will she be exporting this teaching to the vulnerable minds of these African babies? Remember my readers, Jim Jones, Heaven's Gate. Let's all pray for this sister.

Word around the political snakepit is that there is a video tape of Mrs. Obama lambasting white people at Pastor White's church. I am informed that there is an ultra conservative billionaire who wants to pay $1m for the tape. It is reported that this rich dude hates Mr. McCain and considers Mr. Obama a weak candidate. He therefore prefers to sink Obama so as to allow Mrs. Clinton to be the opposer of McCain. One lawyer reportedly viewed the tape and described the video as stunning. My limited understanding of the CIA and Washington politics tells me that even if there is no such tape, the false flag broadcast is classic Clinton modus operandi. It is also reported that Karl Rove and his cohorts have control of the tape where it is rumoured that Mrs. Obama has "a Stokely Carmichael moment of sorts". The 411 is that Rove is showing the tape to big spending Republicans in an effort to loosen their pockets.
My dear readers if you would go back to an article I posted about Mrs. Clinton's RIP list you will understand how devious this woman is. This timely leak about an anonymous billionaire and Karl Rove is all a smoke screen. Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill are obdurates. If there is such a tape, the HillBillgoons have found it a long time ago. I still cannot understand why someone would want to be President of the USA. It's a job that taints good men, the puppetmasters call all the shots, you will have to toe the line. Like I said the attack on Obama has some convenient color issues but the truth is that multinational corporations, globalists, lobbyists, the wealthy, who will never surrender the spoils they have held on to for generations. They determine who sits in the white house. The dance Mr. Obama, has just begun. Look at West Virginia, poverty, families being exploited by the mining industry but the system has created the distrust that will forever separate the people. |

I've been more or less reserved in my view on the fugacious bible thumper out of Harlem. His invidious "gospels" are even more chilling than the worst of the KKK. More disturbing is the reticent young men standing in their pious attire appearing lost in his vociferous bantering. This evil ,venomus attack on a young man, irregardless of color or political ambition portrays an egotistical, vindictive, disturbed, megalomaniac, who revels in his futile preachings. In recent posts I have underlined my distrust of politics, but I believe to stand by and not condemn this "blaster" will send a mixed message to our children. This lummox is doing more harm to the young minds in his congregation than any hiphop video can ever dream to do. Where is our outrage? Are we bounded by a black code of silence? Isn't it enough to be cursed at by white racists? Can anyone imagine what public uproar there would be if a white preacher publicly refer to blacks as honorless or having stinking faces and nappy hair. I am deeply disturbed, matter of fact, I'm pissed. Obama's mother is a woman, yes, God's creation. Had I been Senator Obama and this "blaster" had referred to my mother as trash, I would have slapped the word out of him. I apologize not for my candor. This man is no man of God. He is a hatemonger with an agenda of pandemonium. In my anger I turned to my bible for forgiveness and I found that God spoke of Blaster Manning.
Timothy 3:2.....For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Having a form of Godliness, but denying that power. |

You know I really hate the fact that I'm being drawn in to the "politricks". I have never been fond of that game of blatant deceit, but I must admit that the ongoings with Senator Obama and Mrs."Pillary" Clinton has me a bit peeved. I feel like I'm looking at Manute Bol and screaming "dunk the ball". Senator Obama, for whatever reason, insists on carrying a nail clipper in a full blown sword fight. What is wrong with him.?Is he scared that the American population is going to be turned off by mudslinging. It is expected that punches will be thrown in a boxing title fight. Just in case your team need some ammo, here are a few shells. Mrs. Clinton was active in the intimidation and harassment of numerous women whose claims of sexual impropriety and assault by her husband she rejected. She denied Kathleen Willey, Monica Lewinsky and numerous others to protect her political ambitions. She castigated mothers, daughters and staff members, even hiring private invetigators to threaten them. What about her real estate dealings? How can you justify not asking these questions if you claim to care about the welfare of the country. I think your evasion of these topics paints a picture of someone who is afraid to take the bull by the horns. How then would you approach the world leaders like Chavez and Ahmadinejad ( excuse me sir if your name is misspelt) if you are scared of Mrs. Clinton? When are you going to ask about their meteoric growth in personal wealth in such a short space of time? When are you going to ask about Mrs. Clinton's upcoming fraud trial? Although I am apathetic about politricks I do enjoy a fair fight. Why are you afraid to go to the basket? Mrs. Clinton and her croonies are remorseless, they display ruthlessness, a much needed quality in our world situation. As president you will be fouled going down the lane. I know that Mrs. Clinton is searching out every video tape ever filmed in your church? Man up!

Mr. Calder Hart, I was quietly amused by your threat to sue anyone who has distributed an email that you claim dishonors you. I see that you have singled out a local magazine editor. I propose that instead of hollow threats you should use your good office to derail the accusations that are circulating about you. An adopted citizen of my country who holds the following positions should be held accountable. After all sir, you are The Chairman of UDECOTT, Chairman, CEO and Managing Director of the Trinidad and Tobago Mortgage and Finance Co. (TTMF), Chairman of NIPDEC, Chairman of NIB. I suggest that you present her with your credentials from MIT where you achieved your MBA. While at it sir, you should be able to put your hands on your documents from Sloan Business School at MIT. I am very concerned about the press and their ability to destroy a person's character. If therefore the circulations are untrue I will gladly post an article about this misinformed editor. Until that time I have to recline and wait for your clarification. Please allow me the opportunity to voice an opinion at this point. I am baffled as to how you were able to accomplish so many hats in a foreign country. What special skills have enabled you to be so powerful in an adopted country? I am personally aware of a many extremely qualified Trinidadians and Tobagonians capable to holding the positions you have "locked down". Is there some special degree or study you have mastered? If so, please enlighten the UWI so that Trinidad can implement a curriculum that would allow our citizens to be qualified enough to migrate to Canada and wield such power.

Dear Sir,
I would like to publicly thank you for your valiant, integrity-filled campaign. I thank you on behalf of all the underpriviledged, lower class people of the world. Through your effort you have created a sense of hope and displayed the rewards of hard work irregardless of race or culture. I thank you on behalf of all the poor citizens of the world, white, black, yellow, brown and even polkadots, if they exist. In my mind you have won the biggest battle of all. You see kind sir I am yet to figure out why anyone will pursue the position of President of the United States. A job that carries a title but very little power. A job that demands you be a face and voice of the big players that lurk in the background. Like I said in a previous post, you need St. Peter as your running mate to be accepted as President. Remember Mr. Obama how the CIA silenced Mr. Ross Perot, how they quieted Mr. Dukakis, how they found Jennifer Flowers, how they how they muddled Gary Hart? These men are all non-blacks. Sir, the President of the USA has to be a team player with big business. This is not in the least bit about color, though it is a convenient help, this is about dollars. I pray that there is no extra-marital relationship out there. If there is , they will find it. They will destroy your family so as to silence you forever. Corporate America does not want to deal with you in another eight years. As for Pastor Wright, his behavior clearly shows to black people that our enemies are not exclusively white. I admire the young and old whites who fervently support you. That is a victory for America. My sincere thanks to them all. Pastor Wright has been manipulated by covert forces so skilled at media manipulation that even he is not aware of their presence. I applaud your message, winning that election, though far-fetched will force you to taint it. Keep it pure. Teach the people. The world needs you. |

As a technology consultant I have lectured hundreds of students and parents on how to prevent ID theft. Technology has made it ever so easy to duplicate documents. Even governments in their clandestine operations create false identities. Joe Public however needs to be aware of the impact this crime has on people around the world. In the latest twist on ID theft, homeowners are surprised to find that thieves have not only stolen their IDs and other personal information, but have used it to open home-equity loans or, in some extreme cases, sold the home without the homeowner's knowledge. There are reported incidents of thieves obtaining mortgages on other peoples houses, taking the money and having innocent victims evicted. Buyers need to be knowledgeable and demand protection of confidential documents when dealing with lenders.

The economy is bad and the scam artists are wreaking havoc on unsuspecting sometimes desperate homeowners and first time buyers. Mortgage scams are increasing daily and the targets are typically clients with bad credit, those who are over extended, or are in need of financial relief. Federal mortgage fraud convictions have more than doubled in the past year, and the FBI expects a growth in these scams as the crisis over substandard, high-interest home loans escalates. The suspicious activity reported involves deceptive pricing and falsified documentation by mortgage brokers, lenders, appraisers, real estate firms and others. Borrowers that are facing foreclosure and bankruptcy are susceptible because of the eagerness to keep their home, making them prime targets for predatory foreclosure scams.
A most common scam is equity skimming which results in the borrower losing their home and much of their cash. The perpetrator will convince the borrower to sign over the house's deed being led to believe that things will be straightened out. In a later post I will attempt to break down these scams.

Power corrupts, absolute power, corrupts absolutely. The signs of a megalomaniacal personality are being displayed by a relatively young, sometimes dynamic politcal leader. I lsitened with disbelief as this leader Mr. Patrick Manning tried to justify the unceremonious removal and public humiliation of a son of that nation. He thumped his chest, Idi Amin like and proclaimed his chrisitianity. I am sure that heaven shook. What a misrepresentation! Mr. Manning has flexed his political muscle with the insensitivity of a pedophile blaming his victim. He has made decisions that minimize the intelligence of the populace. In a country where murders have climbed to the level of two per day, it is a disgrace that this leader will choose to destroy the character of a brilliant, astute young dynamo for the crime of obscene language. Mr. Manning has thrown out the baby with the bath water, he is daily developing his kangaroo court, unknowingly or in ignorance fostering his demise. I am weary of the individual who forever highlights his christianity. There is an old Trinidadian saying, " what eh meet yuh eh pass yuh". Mr. Manning needs to retrench his ego. I remember him shamelessly declaring himself the father of the nation. The first thing a dictator does is remove any one who may be threatening and then surrounds himself with figureheads and yesmen. Mr. Manning you are heading down a road that has been travelled by quite a few leaders who eventually die in exile. Trinidadians beware, bend the tree while it is young.

I was recently pleasantly surprised to find out that the beautiful young woman I see in my neighborhood almost daily is the songbird I found on youtube. This has to be told. I am an avid music fan. While going through some videos I heard a song called forgiveness, I tried to get as much info on the singer as I could. According to my daughter "She's hot". Being into a lot of all types of music, she really got my attention. This lady can sing. Her soulfulness radiates from her presence. Her vocal tone is unique. Who is she? There is a beautiful little antique store around the corner, I went in on my way from work to assist the owner with a laptop problem. Well, we started talking and somehow the conversation got around to music. Another surprise, the owner showed me one of her music videos......she is a music promoter. She went on to tell me about her musical family and mentioned her daughter. "Wait a minute ", she said, "I'll show you her video". I almost had a cardiac when pulled up "forgiveness". That charismatic, warm, unbelievably talented singer is Martelli. I quickly asked if I can interview this talent. What's even better, I spoke with her about an hour ago. I guess I can now honestly say that I met Martelli. Don't hat......I'm getting my autograph and picture before she blows up. Stay tuned for the interview.
P.S. find her on youtube.

In New York City tempers flared, citizens expressed disbelief, the system flexed it's muscles with unbelieveable paramilatry power showing. "Blood clath!" I heard a apparently Jamaican brother scream as he crossed Beverley Road. The whispers were unnerving, expressing again that sense of powerlessness that seems to constantly present us the opportunity to be reminded of our place in the system. My friend referred to me as pessimistic in our heated debate yesterday. My insistence that the verdict will be unfavorable to minority Sean Bell seemed defeatist to him. Am I a prohet of doom, bringer of darkness or one who judges on past performance? We as residents of the great country of America are eager to accept illusions, facades and political flattery. We are set up to expect a level playing field at the expense of dissolving the strong psychological poison that is fed to us daily. We are quick to forget Rodney King, the marches where police dogs were set on children, we insist in putting to rest Abner Louima, Amadou Diallo and the daily abuse of young men in our neighborhoods. Maybe it's non-progressive, but I can't forget past performances. I am in no way trying to absolve or justify the wrongs that we do, but I must insist that the punishment meted out far outweighs the crime in most cases. Is Sean Bell going to be the last? Not by a long shot! I've seen a young black man who just returned from Iraq have his face shoved against the sidewalk in Hempstead L.I. The utter disdain shown for our young black men is as close to Johannesburg as one can get. What is ironic is that it appears that black cops are just as or even more intolerant of young black men than their white counterparts. I pray for the soul of that young man, I pray for his family, his wife, his children, his friends. I call on all young men to be vigilant. God does not sleep. He says "touch not my anointed nor do my prophets harm". Judgement belongs to God. Be still!
